"I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but he who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses."

fyeahheyrosetta:

my love, my love is dead i buried it

in the falling leaves, looking awful green, in the whipping wind

my love, my love is dead i buried it
and it’s better hid, all the shit we sling into the whipping wind

my love, my love is dead i buried it
just an honest kid, i always did everything they said

my love, my love is dead i buried it
what a senseless thing! this heart in shreds in the whipping wind!

That summer I caught a butterfly
and devoured bowls of melons

but out of all those lies
“I love you” was most delicious.

Poor countries sell their grain to the West while their children starve in their arms and the west feed it to the animals so they can eat a steak. Am I the only one who sees this as a crime? Every morsel of meat we eat is slapping the tear-stained face of a starving child. When I look into her eyes, should I be silent? The earth can produce enough food for everyone’s needs, but not enough for everyone’s greed.

It’s about misunderstandings between people and places, being disconnected and looking for moments of connection. There are so many moments in life when people don’t say what they mean, when they are just missing each other, waiting to run into each other in a hallway.

Tom Phillips - A Humument (1966-73)

“In 1966 Phillips set himself a task: to find a second-hand book for threepence and alter every page by painting, collage and cut-up techniques to create an entirely new version. He found his threepenny novel in a junkshop on Peckham Rye, South London. This was an 1892 Victorian obscurity titled A Human Document by W.H Mallock and he titled his altered book A Humument.

The first version of all 367 treated pages was published in 1973 since when there have been four revised editions. A Humument is now one of the best known and loved of all 20th Century artist’s books and is regarded as a seminal classic of postmodern art.”

She is braille.

I read her with my hands,
her body speaks to me.
I respond.

fluently.
